Relax & celebrate in our relaxed country café, lily farm, & function venue
In the heart of the rich soil of Horowhenua is Lily’s RanchHouse – home to an eclectic mix of hospitality, entertainment, thriving lily farm, and lovely home of Peter and Kathy Leith.
The Leith’s own and operate Lily’s RanchHouse and one of New Zealand’s most successful lily farms - Universal FlowerCorp. This farm has been growing stunning lilies since 1958 and was home to renowned grower Bill Doreen.
Since 2002 Peter and Kathy have built on the reputation of the lily farm and extended the enterprise to include a café/bar, hearty food, music, wedding and function venue, lily farm tours and shop, and good cheer. Their passion for lilies, and seeing you experience something special, makes Lily’s RanchHouse a ‘must-do experience’.
There’s plenty of space for the kids to run around, and ample convenient parking. The café seats 80 people for buffets and up to 120 for finger food functions.
Lily’s RanchHouse - bringing pleasure to people's lives
You’ll have such a lovely time at Lily’s you’ll want to take some of your experience home. You are welcome to purchase exquisite lilies, bulbs, home made pesto and other delights and the heart beat of Lily’s RanchHouse – an original CD of Peter’s entertaining band, The RanchHouse boys.
Meet your function & farm tour hosts – Peter & Kathy
This husband and wife team know the importance of being happy and creating a welcoming atmosphere. They’ve created a haven for themselves and are delighted to share the experience of Lily’s RanchHouse with you.
Kathy
Kathy is likely to be the first person you’ll meet. Her zest for life is contagious. Kathy’s hospitality experience and real love of entertaining means your stay at Lily’s will be relaxed and memorable. She values and shares what the country has to offer – honesty, fun, and a welcoming smile. Kathy treats customers as if they were old friends.
Peter
Peter left his corporate career to first manage the Manakau Hotel with Kathy. He thrived in the country pub setting and took the opportunity to extend his passion for the land and hospitality when the lily farm became available.
His greatest passion, music, is the heartbeat behind Lily’s RanchHouse, and one of the successes of Lily’s is perfectly expressed in Peter’s favourite lyric…I did it my way from the song made famous by Frank Sinatra. Peter whole- heartedly welcomes you to share his love of music and country life.
